Quick Start
- Open the app and tap Select HEIF.
- When prompted, allow Photo Library access.
- Choose an image and select output format: JPG or PNG.
- Tap Convert, then choose Save to Photos or Save to Files.
Why we ask for Photo Access
Purpose: We request Photo Library access so you can select HEIF images to convert into JPG or PNG, and optionally save the converted result back to your library. Processing happens on your device; nothing is uploaded.
Example: “Allowing photo access lets me pick a HEIF photo, convert it to JPG, and save the JPG to Photos so I can share it.”
Privacy
- No accounts, sign-ins, or tracking.
- Conversions are performed on-device.
- No personal data, images, or metadata are collected or transmitted.
- Original files remain unchanged unless you explicitly save a new copy.
FAQs
Where do my converted images go?
If you choose Save to Photos, the converted image appears in your Photos library. If you choose Save to Files, you’ll pick a folder in the Files app (iCloud Drive or On My iPhone).
Why JPG vs. PNG?
JPG is smaller and great for sharing and general use. PNG is lossless and better for graphics or images needing crisp edges.
Photo access was denied. How do I enable it?
On your iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Eva’s HEIF to JPG/PNG, set to All Photos or Selected Photos.
Do you upload my images?
No. All processing occurs locally on your device.
Will the original HEIF be modified?
No. The original remains unchanged. The app creates a new JPG/PNG copy.
I can’t find the converted file.
If you saved to Photos, check the Recents album. If saved to Files, open the Files app and navigate to the folder you selected during saving.
Conversion failed or the app crashed.
Ensure your device has free storage, try a different image, and restart the app. If the issue persists, email us with the image size, iOS version, and steps to reproduce.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. No internet connection is required for converting images.
Troubleshooting
- Denied permissions: Re-enable in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos.
- Storage full: Free up space before converting large images.
- Very large images: Try PNG if JPG fails, or vice versa.
